I am originally from Scotland, now living in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada.
Painting has always been a passion of mine and something that I pursued from a young age. Growing up in Scotland I studied painting and drawing and worked in a pottery studio before moving into a career in fashion design which I continued after moving to Canada. I took numerous art classes off and on throughout my working life in the UK. Later in my career, I studied textile design and lectured at NBCCD in Fredericton.
After obtaining my Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in textile history, I put my art on the back burner and barely touched it. Now in retirement from the daily grind, I can once again peruse my passion at my pleasure.
My current work is primarily watercolour painting giving the feeling of memorable landscapes and seascapes of where I have lived and visited. I love the fluidity of watercolour painting on paper, allowing the paint like nature to take its course before me as I maintain a loose rein on its direction.
