I have been involved in the creative arts and design for a number of years through my professional career as an educator, researcher, e-learning developer, surface designer, fashion designer, fabric CAD educator and artist. Design has been a fundamental component of my creative life.

In design, I believe that a concept is like a seed that flourishes when nurtured, cultivated and given room to grow. The textile designer is like the gardener, tending to the seasonal offerings and ensuring a luxurious and successfuly display. Individual flowers are beautiful, but when clustered in the garden, the effect is enhanced beyond any single bloom. Likewise, we all benefit and gain knowledge from others and the life experiences we encounter. Collaborative efforts and teamwork are essential to success.
